Audio-Bibles for Paraguay

What is this project about?

The"AudioBibles For Paraguay" project will place the Word of God in the homes of 100,000 Paraguayans in the form of specially designed Mp3 players. These are the homes of "oral learners" who retain information much more readily by listening, than by reading.

By giving the rural men of Paraguay these inexpensive MP3 players they will be able to lead their families in daily devotions and feed themselves in ways that would be impossible with the written Word because of their limited education.

SIM PY hopes to become the "Gideons" of the audio Bible in Paraguay.

If there was ever a time to cancel Bible study, tonight was it. Dark clouds were pregnant with rain, the sky was smoky-gray and winds ripped through town sending the dust whirling. I was surprised when Nilsa showed up at 5:00 p.m. ready to teach.

Praise the Lord with us. A business man here in Paraguay has pledged 165 thousand dollars toward the project. This means we can finalize our contract with our Chinese manufacturer and our exporter. With a gift this large, the donor wants to make sure everything runs smoothly in the distribution process, so after viewing a few more prototypes, we will accept shipment of the first 1300 Bibles. Then if all goes well with that shipment, we will request an additional 1000 more to really test out our distribution plan.

When we have worked out most of the difficulties of distribution, we will then receive the final gift from this donor of 150 thousand dollars and bring in the next 10,000 Bibles.

God has been so good to us, and His timing has been wonderfully perfect. Thank You.

Now on to phase II of our fund raising! The next $150,000 dollars!

About Tom Stout

Tom and Kelly Stout have served in Paraguay since 1993. First working on a church planting team and focusing on ministry to youth. After 9 years in this ministry they felt the Lord leading them further into interior of Paraguay to start other churhes.

They moved to a small village for several years and saw a few families won to the Lord. After this brief time Tom was asked to become part of the leadership and administration team in the capital city of Asuncion. Here Tom works as an assistant to the director and project coordinator. Kelly is a homemaker and home schools their three children (Denny, James, Romy)
